You are probably like many of us whom suffer some outbreak of acne from time to time.The teenagers are affected much more than anyone else as it diminishes their self confidence.  But fortunately, there are many natural skin care recipe that are currently available easily.

There are estimated 80% of the people around the world that are affected by acne.  Chances are that you may have toyed with some of the over the counter acne treatment products hoping that it will help cured the acne outbreak or some acne scar removal treatment.  You may also have realised that while these over the counter acne treatment product helps the acne treatment to a small extent, it also cause dryness, redness, or itching.So on top of the acne outbreak, you now have a new set of problems to deal with.  The key is to find a product that is suitable to your natural skin type.

Most of the acne treatment products today contain compounds such as alicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.Both these compounds have been proven to fight acne effectively.If your skin needs the drying agent type of cream, then you should consider cream that contain benzoyl peroxide.These acne cream dry up oily skin as it helps to fight the acne.  The other compund, salicylic acid, which on the other hand, is an exfoliant agent.  Exfoliants helps to slough dead skin cells from the face or body, in order to unclog pores, hence relieving the acne breakout.Most of the facial cleansers, toners, and pads contain such active ingredient.

Acne outbreak can damage people’s self confidence, which should be treated seriously.However, with the medical advancement today, we are blessed with the wide array of choices of the various acne treatment products.

Even though there are many safe and effective over-the-counter and prescription medications for the treatment of acne, curing acne takes time and so, while the medication is doing its work, many people want to cover up their spots as much as they can.

Having said this, it could be argued that since this is a condition that affects about eighty-five percent of the population between the ages of about 12 and 24 you shouldn’t worry about trying to cover it up at all because almost all of us go through it. Your first line of defense should be a concealer that can be dabbed onto pimples using a disposable sponge. You have to be careful though in using a concealer and use just as much as you need and no more.

Next it is on to a foundation which is very good at blending the tones of your skin and again this needs to be used sparingly but in sufficient quantity to achieve an even color overall. You will find that foundation is not only very good for covering your spots but, because it is not as reflective as your skin itself, it also softens out the shadows and reduced the contrast produced by the bumps which accompany acne.

Finally, a light application of powder can also help to further blend color tones, reduce shadow and eliminate contrast.

But what about the men? Well, there are two approaches here. The first is to follow the women and apply makeup and you will discover that there is makeup available nowadays that is specially formulated to be used by men. If, however, you feel that this is not for you then the second approach is to purchase one of the range of treatments which contain acne covering compounds designed to both help cure the condition and at the same time to hide its appearance.

Of course it would be nice if we had a proactive acne solution which could get rid of acne fast but for the moment this tends to be a somewhat slow process and so, until we have some treatments and products that cure acne fast, effectively concealing the problem is going to be important to many sufferes for a while yet.
