Resorcinol and Salicylic acids attacks on both blackheads and while heads and treats them. The results may not be immediately visible. In fact some times it may even take months to get the desired result. Use of Sulfur may not be beneficial to all the persons. Some persons are allergic to Sulfur and can not stand its touch on their skin. It is a common practice to resort to low concentration of acne treatment then as the body gets acclimatized then go for higher concentrated treatment. Sulfur treatment basically has no side effects. Some times having bath in Sulfur springs also helps. But the most important point to remember is any of the treatment associated with acne treatment is to have patience. The response is evident after weeks and some time even after months. But after the treatment is over, the patient must stick to a regular regimen. Don’t let oil on the face or body to remain there for long. Sulfur has a peeling effect on the skin. When applied over the skin, it peels all the blackhead/whiteheads formed over the skin.
Sulfur is an important material which is required for skin cell formations. There are even therapeutic Sulfur masks available which can offer effective treatments in any type of acne barring severe. Sulfur in any case is good for whole body. Deficiency of Sulfur in our body can lead to so many problems. But please ensure that you are not sticking with this option if your acne condition has worsened. If severe condition persists for longer period than it may result in many other problems, which may not get cured easily.
Limitations:
Sulfur can not treat severe and moderate acne. Excessive reliance on Sulfur for treating acne when no results are being noticed can sometime proves counterproductive.
Excessive use of Sulfur along with Benzoyl peroxide can sometimes lead to drying on skin.
