Tea Tree Oil for Acne – Tea tree oil is a good acne treatment, as tea tree oil is an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent.  Tea tree oil comes from the Melaleuca Alternifolia plant, which is a native Australian plant. Don’t use undiluted tea tree oil on your skin, but instead mix it with water (5 parts tea tree oil to 95 parts water) to make a 5% solution, and then dab it on your acne blemishes using a clean cotton ball.  One benefit of tea tree oil is that it causes less irritation than benzoyl peroxide, although it is slightly less effective in curing acne.

Get Rid of Acne Once and For All

Posted by on December 30, 2008

Have you tried absolutely everything to get rid of acne?   Then you know how frustrating it can be to try product after product and get no relief. If nothing has worked, it’s time to take a step back and consider the big picture.

There are several potential causes of acne.  The most common form of acne that typically strikes teenagers is called acne vulgaris.  The breakouts, pimples and zits that are the bane of your existence are usually triggered by hormonal changes that go along with puberty and adolescence.

However, there are other underlying causes of acne, including hormonal changes related to pregnancy, menopause, and other hormonal imbalances such as PCOS (polycystic ovary disease).  And, acne has even been linked to diet in some people. You may have an underlying food sensitivity that triggers outbreaks, or possibly a food allergy. Some prescription medications list acne as a potential side effect.  Lamictal acne is one example where a drug has been linked to causing acne breakouts in some people.

While acne afflicts many people, millions, in fact — that is little consolation if you are the one who has it. You may feel shy socially, avoid people, and really lose confidence. Acne has even been linked to mental depression in some cases. So, beyond just the skin surface, acne has many potentially negative impacts on your life.   Finding a cure and finding out how to get rid of acne is extremely important.

Don’t give up if you’ve already tried every acne topical skin care cream and treatment and have not found a cure.  There have been many advances in acne treatment, and sometimes just finding the right medical professional who can diagnose the root cause of your acne is the difference between continued suffering and finding a cure.  Consult a dermatologist or physician with experience in treating acne.  If your acne is determined to be hormonally related, birth control pills may be prescribed. If you suffer severe acne, it might be time to try some of the prescription acne medications.

Join an acne support group if you want to talk about your acne with others who have the same problem.  There are several websites that offer on-line acne forums where you can communicate with other acne sufferers, ask questions, and discuss various acne treatment options. Don’t underestimate how badly acne can make you feel, it helps to reach out to others and know you’re not alone.

Finally, when it comes to persistent acne, if you can’t find a cure, you seriously might want to look at taking an “inside out” approach. You’ll need to change your diet, and the same advice you always hear applies to acne: eat more fruits and vegetables for antioxidants.  A poor diet can cause all types of health conditions, which manifest in the skin as acne.  Instead of treating acne symptomatically, instead look for the root cause and find a cure.

Also, always drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to flush toxins from your skin. Some blood sugar conditions like pre-diabetes can be linked to acne in some cases, as can eating too much sugar in the diet. Consult with a trained nutritionist or physician, and have a complete physical with blood work to rule out any underlying medical conditions or imbalance.  You should find someone who can recommend the right acne diet, which typically is just a healthful diet that also promotes good skin as a result.Detoxification and balancing your body will have long term benefits to both your skin and your overall health.

You may also consider taking some of the new acne skin care supplements that have vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients that support healthful skin.  These are results of new scientific advancements in skin care and development of products known as “nutraceuticals.”

The good news is that there are more solutions to get rid of acne being researched and developed all the time.  It is unlikely this will be a life-long condition, and more likely that by finding the right help, you will find a cure, and get rid of acne once and for all.

Severe Form of Acne Vulgaris

Posted by on December 30, 2008

Adult cystic acne treatment can only be administered when the doctor is confident of whatever the underlying problems are. The procedure will more likely than not consist of some tests specifically for the blood. Acne cyst, as opposed to blackheads and whiteheads, are normally large inflamed lesions filled with pus. When the contents of a clogged pore seeps into the skin, a local immune response is produced, causing the development of an acne cyst. That’s why adult acne cysts are maybe the most painful form of acne breakouts. The content of a nodular acne is pus, which is a bi-product of the immune system trying to kill the pathogen.

Acne cysts are a common skin reaction to bacteria and pathogens. Bacteria (propionibacterium acnes) find their way into pores and inflame healthy cells living inside. Acne cysts are considered extremely painful and one of the most severe forms of acne and which usually occur in men and affects different parts of the body like back, chest regions except the face. Cystic or nodular is another form of pimples or breakouts but in the most severe case. One of the main problem is that adult acne cysts can leave a depression on their own when they finally resolve. The longer the cyst is there, then the greater the chance of a depression, and finding the right adult acne cure for cystic acne is not always easy.

Cystic acne is a more severe form of common acne, or acne vulgaris. Papules are the most common form of pimple, comprising a reddish bump, which is usually not painful. Cystic acne is characterized by painful acne cysts or nodules. The painful cyst results from a sebaceous gland that is blocked and infected, and the body trying to obliterate the infecting pathogen. Cystic acne is technically known as acne vulgaris or pimples.

Cystic acne heals extremely slowl because the infection waste is not discharged. If you experience regular breakouts involving cystic acne, it is important that you start using a cystic acne treatment right away to prevent scarring. Cystic acne can sometimes be considered severe acne , depending on the amount of cysts and other acne.
